For the first time since 2016, Andrew Luck is throwing footballs. Real, NFL-sized footballs. Now you might be saying, “Hey, I’m pretty sure I saw videos of Luck tossing the pigskin around during OTA’s in June. What gives?” Well, my friend, you’d be correct. But those were college balls. Today, we made the step to big boy footballs.
With how badly the Colts have botched Luck’s shoulder injury for the last two years, somehow making the jump from a college ball to an NFL ball feels like a big deal. Remember, this time last year, all he could do was toss tennis balls around and the Colts still made it seem like he’d be ready for the start of the season. We all know that ended up not happening.
And for anyone who doubts that this was in fact an NFL-sized ball, there were multiple reporters with boots on the ground at Colts camp confirming this information.
That’s a throw folks! And yes, it is The Duke he’s tossing for the skeptics out there. Andrew Luck making his first throws of camp, getting warmed up ahead of the first practice #Colts pic.twitter.com/tNXFfWBReD

Andrew Luck throwing with both hands! Both Dukes. Both perfectly timed ou routes on opposite sides of the field! #Colts pic.twitter.com/55jj7c7AEy

Obviously, this is big time news for Colts fans. But the way these last 18 months have transpired, I’ll believe Andrew Luck is back when Andrew Luck steps onto the field in a game and throws a pass.
More throws!
