Georgia Cornhole Tournament Brawl Breaks Out At High School Scholarship Fundraiser

|

What happens when an Atlanta suburb Chamber of Commerce puts up $500 to the winning team at its cornhole tournament that will raise money for scholarships that will benefit high school seniors? A fight, that’s what will happen as it did Sunday when some good ol’ boys decided that punches would settle things so they let ’em fly right there on the cornhole grounds.

From the Douglasville, Georgia Chamber of Commerce on its cornhole tournament:

Advancing Modern Professionals in Douglas (AMP’D) is pleased to announce the 7th Annual Cornhole Tournament will take place on Sunday, May 6, 2018. The tournament will be held at Foxhall Resort, located at 8000 Capps Ferry Road in Douglasville. AMP’D is the Douglas County Chamber’s program for young professionals in the community.

Proceeds from the Cornhole Tournament benefit annual Leadership Scholarships that are presented to local high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and community service potential and to young professionals seeking to continue their education. Players will be vying for the title of tournament champion as well as a $500 cash prize.

You know how I know this cornhole tournament is a big deal? It has its own logo. That’s a sign, folks. I’ve been around sports on the Internet for a long time. I know these things. You don’t expect these guys to spend a Sunday in the heat playing cornhole for the fun of it, did you?

Hell no, fists will fly.
