Leighton Vander Esch's Mom Sandy Vander Esch Might End Up A Draft Night Star

Well, well, well…Sandy Vander Esch…look at you out here making a statement on the red carpet at the NFL Draft with son Leighton Vander Esch, a linebacker who left Boise State after his junior season. The Vander Esch family is out of Riggins, Idaho, a town of 400 along the Salmon River.
From SI:

Sandy was a noted basketball player growing up in Iowa and played an active role in her kids’ athletic development. Jason was a high school football player, all three sisters were basketball stars who went on to play at small colleges, and Leighton, with his unfathomably thick neck, has become the most famous person in the town’s history.

The Vander Esch scouting report from NFL.com:

Vander Esch is a loose-hipped, instinctive linebacker who played in 2017 like he had a GPS tracker on the football. His production totals against both the run and pass are rare for being a first-year starter and with a frame that is primed for more muscle, his NFL ceiling is high. Vander Esch might benefit from a reduced role his rookie season while he improves his play strength and becomes more skilled at taking on blocks. He’s an every-down linebacker with very good starting potential and the talent to fill up a stat sheet.
