It’s going to be Brad Childress (head coach) and Michael Vick (offensive coordinator) leading the Atlanta entry in the AAF, the new spring football league that’s expected to start playing in 2019. It was announced in February that Childress would be an offensive consultant with the Bears. That job was short lived because now he’s the head coach of the Atlanta Alliance team.
As for Vick, HE’S BACK!
Atlanta I’m excited to be back!
Vick, who never played another down for the Falcons after the 2006 season, was suspended for the 2007 season. Eventually he served 21 months in federal prison on dog fighting charges. Now 37, Vick now has a Virginia Tech inspired line of clothing that he’s been promoting, including a Grit shirt.
As for football in Atlanta, the team will play at the old Turner Field that has been converted to Georgia State Stadium. The team says tickets will be $35 and they announced today — perfect timing — that they’re taking season ticket deposits.
