Lost in the Opening Day hoopla last week was news that Manny Ramirez has officially shaved the dreads that defined a man with 555 career dongs. And I don’t mean he just shaved the dreads and left a little shadow up on the dome. ManRam went all the way and got the clean shave look just in time for what appears to be a Spring Break excursion to Anguilla.
Manny, closing in on 46, and his wife Juliana seem to be enjoying R&R before, I assume, Manny goes back to Japan to jack baseballs. You couldn’t blame him if he does go back to Japan. His contract in 2017 included:
1) Ramirez will have use of a Mercedes and driver;
2) Practices are optional for him; 3) He’ll get a hotel suite on the road; and 4) He will receive unlimited sushi for the entire season.
