While all the top-ranked golfers in the world are spending their weekend in Austin playing the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play event, Tony Romo is down in the Dominican Republic casually making his first PGA Tour start at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. You might remember Jim Nantz sort of breaking this news back in January when he said we could expect Romo to play in an event this year.
He didn’t qualify, but if you know anything about Romo’s golf game, you know he can easily hold his own in a tournament. Instead, he got a sponsor exemption to play this weekend. Right now he’s sitting as a cool 2000-1 longshot to take home the trophy, which is something I’d consider throwing a few bucks down on if you’re still feeling frisky from March Madness.
You never know what could happen, just ask UMBC.

Everything is coming up golf right now. Tiger is hot, Rory is hot, DJ is playing this weekend, and now we have Romo in the mix. Even though the golf hard asses probably hate it, I wouldn’t mind seeing Tony playing some weekend golf.
So far…not off to a terrible start
