Johnny Manziel Threw In Front Of NFL Scouts At San Diego's Pro Day

Johnny’s #ComebackSZN is rolling right along on this week fresh off his honeymoon in Cabo and things are looking up for Mr. Football. Yesterday, the rosters were announced for The Spring League Johnny will be playing in, which is basically a place for flamed out players to get another shot to show what they have in front of scouts. A perfect opportunity to show what he has left in a real football situation.

Today, he got a little head start in front of NFL scouts at the University of San Diego’s pro day before the Spring League kicks off next week. Bruce Feldman from SI reports that San Diego didn’t have a QB to throw to their prospects this morning, so they went after Manziel, who obviously jumped at the opportunity to get some throws under his belt in front of real NFL talent evaluators.

The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner got married earlier this month and has been training for his return to football after two years out of the NFL in San Diego with his old quarterback coach, George Whitfield. Torero coaches didn’t have a quarterback available to throw at their pro day and approached Manziel, who agreed to take part.

I’m no scout, but from these videos, all I can say is…not bad? He missed a throw or two here, threw a dime there. It’s hard to tell when you’re throwing against an imaginary defense. But knowing that Johnny was slinging merch out of a Uhaul two months ago, and now he’s actually getting in front of scouts? Who knows, he may be on a roster by training camp.

I’ll let you guys judge
