In news that should shock no one, the most popular pothead in sports, Ricky Williams, has started his own marijuana brand called Real Wellness. The company is based in San Diego and products “for the health-conscious cannabis consumer” will be available for purchase at dispensaries around the SD area starting Tuesday.
Williams, who failed drug tests during his NFL days and even retired for a season to smoke some tree, says he’s been educating himself on the subject for over a decade (via the Sun-Sentinel):
“I am known as a professional football player,” Williams said in a phone interview Monday. “In the last 14 years, I have been educating myself and training as a health care practitioner.”

For those curious about what Ricky is offering in the weed space, PR Newswire has details on his three-category approach for consumers:
To help consumers easily select the products that meet their needs, RW’s line is organized into three distinct categories: Solutions, which targets occasional issues and includes the Head Ease and Serenity Vape Cartridges; Everyday, which helps with ongoing or recurring issues and includes the Serenity Tonic and Ricky’s Choice Vape Cartridge; and Sport, which helps activate the body for any activity and includes the Maintenance and Repair Salve and the Optimize Tonic.
Our take: good for Ricky. We’re sure there were plenty of people out there ranting about him ruining his career so he could smoke back in the day — now he can actually make some real cash out of this assuming his venture takes off.
