Considering that he was just a 68 percent free-throw shooter on the season, Houston’s Devin Davis performed pretty well Saturday night. He went 9-12 at the line and contributed 17 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks — he and man bun sensation Rob Gray were somehow the only players on the Cougs to surpass four points.
Sadly all the good Davis provided has been tossed to the side. You already know the story here: his three misses at the stripe came in the final 25 seconds and ultimately made this Jordan Poole last-second heave possible:

So brutal. More so given it looked like Houston was going to survive the refs giving Michigan like every call in the second half. And because sports are super depressing sometimes, here are photographs of Davis standing at the free-throw line 45 minutes after those bricks:
