I’m not sure I can think of a better way for a couple college baseball team’s to celebrate St. Patty’s Day than doing a little fighting. It’s the spirit of the holiday! They all probably went out got hammered after this. Then fought again. This is what St. Patrick wanted. If you’re forced to play a baseball game while all of your friends are out dartying and drinking a thousand beers before noon, you might as well throw some hands to pass the time.
You even have the lady in the front row loving it. Also, this was a legit brawl. None of the “hold me back” bullshit you see in the MLB these days. Legit punches were thrown, somebody got tossed to the ground by two opposing players, and who knows what was going on the in the middle of that scrum. I love that we have a good basebrawl in March. It’s just not something we see in the pros that much anymore.
This slide into home plate is what allegedly started this whole thing. It’s tough to tell if it was clean or not, but just based on this terrible video of another video, I’m saying it was.
This slide got the juices flowing #forthebrand pic.twitter.com/zatteE0xVc

He could’ve easily gone full-Pete Rose there, but I don’t see any real attempt to purposely take out the catcher. Looks like somebody may have just wanted to fight. I’m ok with that.
Eyewitness says the catcher started it
I was at this game and as you can see in the videos Jacksonville state catcher started it! This slide was clean to me! And it was no different than if you slid into break up a double play or anything like that!
