Another Cincinnati sports lowlight is in the books after the Bearcats somehow blew a 22-point lead to Nevada in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Jarrod Cumberland made a layup with 11:34 left in the game to put Cinci up 65-43, and it all went down the drain for Mick Cronin’s group after that as they were outscored 32-8 the rest of the way.

Cincinnatians are undoubtedly accustomed to dumbfounding defeats after years of watching the Bengals, but one young fan in particular took the loss hard. Shoutout to TNT cameras for zooming in on this kid during his initiation into life as a Cinci sports fan:

Honestly this kid better buckle up. Life isn’t going to get any better when football season rolls along in a couple months. (The Reds, however, at least have Joey Votto and a solid farm system so it maybe it isn’t all bad.)
Instead of advancing to their first Sweet 16 since 2012, Cinci ties Syracuse for the second-largest blown lead in tourney history…
Nevada’s 22-point comeback against Cincinnati was tied for the second largest in NCAA Tournament history.
