2018 is going to be a rough one for Kansas City Royals players. They’re probably going to be terrible now that their cornerstone players have gone elsewhere, and to make matters worse, the team has made it a priority to ruin adult entertainment for them. Random, but it’s true.
The Royals recently brought in an organization called “Fight the New Drug” to camp to educate players on the harmful effects of pornography. Their website boasts the team is the first “to take a stand against porn” and that the presentation went “fantastically.”

Details on the seminar from Fight the New Drug:

And this past weekend, those goals became reality at our groundbreaking Spring Training presentation event where over 200 Royals players, coaches, trainers, and staff attended.
The tone of the event was set by Dayton Moore, who emphasized the importance of understanding this issue, and baseball veteran Blaine Boyer, who has been an MLB pitcher for 16 years and played for the Royals’ minor league team. Boyer works with the non-profit Exodus Road, and recently spent ten days undercover with former MLB first baseman, Adam LaRoche, helping to identify and rescue under-age sex slaves in Southeast Asia.
In FTND’s awareness-raising presentation to the players, we specifically focused on how porn can impact a consumer’s overall well-being, which in turn can affect productivity, performance, and personal image. Seeing as they are all constantly in the spotlight and in the public eye, and setting an example for those who look to them for inspiration, this issue is something that can greatly impact not only their careers, but also their lives.

We look forward to the industry’s response to the Royals officially taking an anti-porn stance. You might remember adult film star Kendra Lust shot back at Moore after he made his comments in August (via TMZ):

“In all honesty, I think that porn helps keep people’s relationships healthy,” Lust says.
“It helps keep [people] safe from maybe going out and being unfaithful to their spouse … it helped my life a lot.”
