Steelers Fan Paralyzed After Chasing Monkey Who Stole His Hat In Bali

There’s been some out there who have questioned the validity of Jeff Swedenhjelm’s story about being paralyzed by a fall in Bali after chasing a monkey that stole his Steelers hat. Well, here we are nearly three months later and the story isn’t changing and Jeff is still paralyzed. The good news is that he’s now back in the States getting treatment for what went down on December 18.
From the GoFundMe page:

Jeff ‘Swede’ Swedenhjelm was living a humble life in Bali, Indonesia for the past 12 months. On Decemeber 18, 2017, Swede was walking to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers game at a local bar, when a monkey snatched his favorite Steelers hat from his head. He attempted to get the hat back from the monkey, climbing up on to a roof of a pavilion. His last memory before waking up in a hospital was trying to get the monkey to drop the hat. Swede fell through the roof falling over 30 ft which left him in acoma for 6 hours and fractured and displaced his C6 vertebrate, rendering him paralyzed from the chest down.
His current medical status is he has no feeling, sensation, or movement from his chest down. He has movement and feeling in his arms and wrists but his hands have not regained movement as of yet. He has an infection in his lungs that causes a large amont of phlegm to build up which drowns him if it is not sucked out. He is in a extremely weak state and needs 24 hr supervision in order to alert medical staff when they are needed.

His Facebook page is wide open and pretty interesting. Life looked pretty damn good for Swede before that fall through the roof. It looks like he was going about business, just enjoying living half way around the world and just wanted to see his Steelers play that day against the Patriots. I think we all remember how that game ended. Jesse James for the win…nope.
Jeff had this to day this week about his situation that resulted from that damn monkey:

No word if this is the hat the monkey stole:
