It appears the Johnny Manziel comeback story has hit the desperation stage, as he took to Twitter to announce that he would “play again for FREE.” Not something you’d expect to read from someone nicknamed “Money,” but here we are.
I’ll play again for FREE. It’s not about the money it’s about getting back to doing what I miss and love.

Obviously this is surprising given talks of him joining the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats reportedly stalled over salary, but NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports he’s been in touch with NFL coaches (per Manziel’s camp) and would both play for a free, and on a practice squad:
After I’m done plugging @ThomaHawkNFD, I talk Johnny Manziel and how teams have been told he’s willing to take $0 guaranteed and even spend time on a practice squad to prove himself in the NFL again. pic.twitter.com/thWDWhzPd6

This, of course, is the second big Johnny story of the day — the first being his appearance on Uninterrupted’s “The ThomaHawk Show” in which he discussed the story of his infamous Billy Manziel alter ego. The wig, the mustache, the Instagram post with his dog, etc. — Johnny provided the answers to all the questions we had in 2016.
"What a complete lack of respect for guys like Joe T."@JManziel2 owns up to past mistakes in a revealing convo with former #Browns teammates @JoeThomas73 & @Hawk on a can't-miss #ThomaHawk Show.
