One of the best games of the day and probably most important games of the Big 12 season tips off tonight at 6pm between Kansas and West Virginia. Both of these teams are still in the hunt for the regular season Big 12 title and this game could have implications on tournament seeding. It seems like every time these teams have played recently we’ve had some wild games, so that should add some juice tonight.
College Gameday was at Allen Fieldhouse this morning, so you knew we had to be running a Kansas girl today and we have ourselves an athlete. Let’s meet Taryn, a Kansas track and field athlete competing in long jump and triple jump. I’d be willing to be she’s in the building tonight unless of course, she has her own obligations today.
She seems to have had a pretty decent senior year so far:
Opened the season with a third-place finish in the triple jump at the Bob Timmons Challenge (12/2) with a mark of 11.08 meters (36-4.25 ft.) … Finished fifth in the long jump (4.87m; 15-11.75 ft.) and sixth in the triple jump (11.19m; 36-8.5 ft.) at the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular (1/13) … Finished seventh in the triple jump at the Mark Colligan Memorial (1/20) with a mark of 11.14 meters (36-6.75 ft.) … Won the triple jump at the Jayhawk Classic (1/25-26) with a mark of 11.37 meters (37-3.75 ft.) … Finished sixth in the triple jump at the Rod McCravy Memorial (2/3) with a leap of 11.58 meters (38-0 ft.).
