Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers agreed Thursday on a five-year, $137.5 million contract, his $27.5 million per year making him the highest paid player in football, NFL Network reported. The 26-year-old will get $74 million guaranteed, according to NBC in San Francisco.

So Jimmy G goes and gets $137.5 million with $74 guaranteed after just 7 total starts with the Niners, what does that make for Kirk Cousins? He has to get more right? One of these teams, whether it’s Denver or the Jets or Cleveland, is now going to make Kirk the highest paid player in football.
