To say Jimmy Garoppolo wowed the San Francisco 49ers with the five games he started to the end the season would be an understatement. The guy singlehanded ruined their tank job and rattled off five wins in a row — now he’s being rewarded for his efforts as the 49ers backing up the Brinks truck with a record five-year, $137.5 million contract per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo:
The 49ers and QB Jimmy Garoppolo have agreed to a five-year, $137.5 million contract, source says. The biggest deal in NFL history on a average-per-year basis.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the deal isn’t officially completed yet, but says “it’s only a matter of time:”
Credit to both @rajmathai and @MikeGarafolo, who have reported 49ers have deal in place with QB Jimmy Garoppolo; seems like only a matter of time. High-ranking 49ers' official texted: "Still working on it. Not done yet."

In case you’re wondering, Jimmy G is now the highest paid player in the NFL with an annual salary of $27.5 million. This will be a nice honor to hold for a couple of weeks, but Kirk Cousins is lying in wait to get paid himself this offseason.
A video titled, “Jimmy Garoppolo’s 2017 Season Highlights That Got Him PAID,” has been appropriately uploaded onto YouTube by the NFL:
