Boy, things got heated this afternoon in the Big J community where it’s rather rare to see one Big J go after another Big J on a “sources” story, but that’s exactly what happened when Rand Getlin, who “parted ways” with NFL Network, went after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport in an Anchorman-style beef bonanza.
This all came after RapSheet tweeted Sunday night that Mike Mularkey was staying as head coach of the Titans and that the Titans had offered Mike an extension. It was announced today by the Titans fired Mularkey.
Enter Getlin, a former coworker of RapSheet. Big J gutshots from Getlin.
Sources: The #Titans have offered coach Mike Mularkey an extension in the wake of their playoff run. He’s staying.

The #Titans announce they have fired coach Mike Mularkey. Unreal.

What’s the big takeaway from this Big J Beef? Things are going to get interesting in Minneapolis if Rand’s in town and shows up to the parties where the Big Js party. I’d love to see one of these Big J beefs come to blows. Think of how great it would be if one of these guys has to do an on-screen appearance for a network and has a black eye. That just might be my dream come true.
Take it to Minneapolis, boys.
Now if only I could get Rand to go after Mike Freeman, my old buddy who hasn’t named a source in 20 years of reporting on the NFL.
