In case you haven’t been up to speed on your college football news these last couple of days, Baker Mayfield is sick. Just a few days before the Rose Bowl. Apparently, he’s come down with some sort of flu/cold and has missed multiple media sessions and a team event at Disneyland.
OU spokesman tells me Baker Mayfield “is not feeling well.” He is practicing. But has missed Disney event and media session today.

However, unless we have something really serious going on here, I think we can assume he’ll play against Georgia on Monday. He might even have an opportunity for his own “flu game”. Baker Mayfield isn’t sitting out the playoffs because of the sniffles.
But this story doesn’t end with the Rose Bowl. This has already trickled its way into NFL draft coverage where Baker’s clearly poor immune system is already a cause for concern.
Talked to an AFC executive who thinks Baker Mayfield missing his press conference due to the flu is a sign of a weak immune system that simply won't play in the difficult weather of the AFC/NFC North

Now the Browns have a reason to pass on him.
