NBC Sports Northwest reporter Bri Amaranthus, an Oregon grad, will be trying to steal the heart of Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. when the newest season of the soap opera gets rolling on January 1 on ABC. Of course this seems all too calculated. ABC throws a sports reporter into the mix for a guy who used to race Formula 1 cars. Instant conversation.
Luyendyk Jr., now in real estate, is back after a “tearful exit” from the Bachelorette, according to the folks over at ABC.
As for Bri, here is her bio Q&A:
Lunch with three people, alive or dead, and what would you order? Barack Obama, my grandma (miss her so much), Audrey Hepburn. I’d order a round of shots!
If you could be someone else for just one day, who would it be and why? An NFL player. I would have been a great football player, QB or receiver.
What is your greatest achievement to date? Putting myself together after heartache and winning an Emmy!

I think you see where this is headed. Ari will take her for a car ride and then they’ll suddenly be in a hot air balloon over Napa. I’m not sure how long a season of the Bachelor lasts, but maybe they’ll be able to sneak in a Cavs-Warriors Game 7 on ESPN/ABC as the fantasy date.
So many angles here for ABC to play off of.
