What was Jim Zorn’s biggest mistake during his coaching stint with the Redskins from 2008-2009? Apparently not letting some of his players take pre-game shots of Hennessy — at least according to former running back Clinton Portis.

Per Portis, he and teammates Santana Moss and Sean Taylor had a ritual of taking Henny shots before games, and Zorn came in the following season and squashed their tradition. That may seem like a reasonable thing to do, but the move lost the duo who carried on the practice in memory of Taylor.
Here’s a clip of Portis and Moss’ discussing their pre-game shots with NBC Washington:

Portis rumbled for nearly 1,500 rushing yards, while Moss had over 1,000 yards receiving in 2008 so the pair seemed to do just fine on the field without the Henny charge.
