We hate to ruin the city of Houston’s joyous time, but NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter are reporting Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson may be done for the season after tearing his ACL during practice.
Rapoport tweeted earlier today that Watson was “limited” and an addition to the team injury report — he dropped the hammer on the Texans’ season shortly after:
Sources: #Texans QB fear Deshaun Watson suffered a torn ACL in practice today. A non-contact injury. MRI coming to confirm. Awful, awful.

Deshaun Watson did tear his ACL, per source. Tests on-site revealed tear. @rapsheet first mentioned this possibility.

Schefter has specifics on the injury, tweeting that it occurred while Watson was running a read option play when he went down:
Deshaun Watson went down on a normal drill, running a read option, on a grass field, per source. Didn’t yell, trainers took him off field.

If this isn’t depressing enough, Tom Savage is slated to start Sunday’s game against the Colts. He’s an absolute joke at the position, as you all know:
Don't see QBs drop back like this. Tom Savage legit just unathletically walking backward in slow motion. Actually made me laugh. #Texans pic.twitter.com/wQMTB3ujOs

Watson was just named AFC Offensive Player of the Month today:
Just keeps coming for #Browns: #Texans Deshaun Watson AFC Off Player of the Month, #Eagles Carson Wentz NFC Off Player of the Month
