This anthem protest thing just got real real. It came to my attention late last night that Captain Wild Bill from Deadliest Catch, a HUGE Steelers fan because he’s actually from Pittsburgh, announced on Facebook that he’d be removing his Terrible Towel in protest over what went down Sunday in Chicago where Alejandro Villanueva was the only Steelers player to step out of the tunnel for the anthem.
Villanueva played football at Army, served three tours, received a Bronze Star for rescuing wounded soldiers while under enemy fire.
As for Captain Wild Bill, he’s a Navy vet. He was also just trying to have a typical fun day like Captain Wild Bill is known for. Just wanted to go dove hunting, maybe eat some good food, drink a beer & catch some football down in Mexico. Then the protest thing happened. His world was turned upside down.
I assume this is the Terrible Towel that will be booted from the Kodiak’s wheelhouse:
