What kind of house would I expect a humble, gritty, gym rat former NFL wide receiver and Ohio State great like Dane Sanzenbacher to live in? Not a 115-year-old Toledo, Ohio mansion that looks like it’s straight out of SEC country. I was expecting a 2,500 sq. ft. one-story ranch in the suburbs. This place that Sanzenbacher’s trying to sell for $349,900 looks like it takes too much time to clean, which doesn’t leave as much time for the gym.
Dane, a Toledo native who finished up his NFL career in 2014, is now a TV reporter for the Toledo CBS affiliate.
From his realtor:
Timeless elegance greets you in every corner of Riverby. Circular floor plan, inlay parquet hdwd, Spanish style roof, multiple fireplaces claw foot tub, library, loft, office & solarium. Updates you desire-kitchen with cherry cabinetry, granite counters, tile floors, island & wall oven. Tank less hot water heater, fresh paint, 2nd flr lndry, master bath, with lg closet w/built-ins. 1 acre lot.
Let’s be honest, Dane needs a much simpler house. I saw that claw foot tub and instantly knew it was too over the top for a former NFL slot receiver.
Other highlights of Sanzenbacher’s mansion:
• 17 rooms!
• 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms
• HUGE master closet…I mean HUGE!
• It looks like the garage has some sort of tower, need to see what’s going on there
• 57 miles to nearest Whole Foods, but it’s in Ann Arbor
• 4 miles to Deja Vu
