Staying on the NFL Draft as my last assignment. Grateful for 3 years at ESPN. My colleagues became best friends & I'll cherish that the most pic.twitter.com/YHZeutahTS

Add another well-known face to the list of people axed by ESPN during Wednesday’s layoffs. Britt McHenry announced today that she’s done at the Worldwide Leader. Her last assignment will be the NFL Draft where she’ll be expected to provide professional reporting and then give back the mic flag and go find another job.

Some of you will be excited to hear that Britt’s gone because you wanted her gone in 2015 after the tow truck incident where she was recorded going OFF on a cashier lady after her car was towed.

There was a suspension and then Britt made her return and has been rolling right along ever since. It was an ugly incident, but Britt’s always been cool with us. We’ve all been there — you’ve wanted to tell someone along the way to f uck off. It just happens that Britt’s incident is still on the Internet.

Britt told Marie Claire in 2016:

I knew I had brought all of this on myself. I apologized on Twitter and meant it. I felt awful about the hurtful words that had come out of my mouth in the exchange with the towing company employee. No matter the tenor of the conversation, I never should have responded in such a personal way.

As for speculation where Britt lands, I’m going with NFL Network. Just makes too much sense. Let her handle the D.C. to Tampa corridor, sit back and relax.
