How do I know UNC’s Luke Maye, who started his college career as a preferred walk-on, is on a heater right now? He’s now known as the guy who hit the game-winner against Kentucky to send the Tar Heels to the Final Four and he’s still able to make it to his 8 a.m. business class after a game in Memphis that ended at like 6:30 CST or so.

And then he showed up to a standing ovation.
How unknown was this guy before the weekend? He went from 5,400 Twitter followers (@luke_maye) to 7,700 this morning – and climbing. The ladies suddenly want to know who the hero is. He’s in for a changed life, especially if UNC locks down another title for Roy. Maye, who’s obviously not leaving UNC, becomes a college poster boy for the next couple years.
