Bob Knight is officially the old man who doesn’t give a shit about anything anymore. Actually, never mind, he’s been that way for about 30 years now and that’s why he’s awesome. You don’t see these types very often anymore. He’s not going to pull any punches. He’s going to be completely honest and when you ask him about his former bosses when he coached at Indiana, he’s going to say things like he hopes they’re all dead.
It’s the same Bobby Knight we’ve come to know over the last 50 years, just an older, crotchety-er version of himself. He doesn’t care what you think, what I think, what anybody thinks and he’s going to speak his mind. Sometimes that means he’ll come off a little ruthless, so deal with it.
Oh, and for any Indiana fans hoping he’ll come back to Bloomington one day: don’t get your hopes up.

Here’s a transcript of his answer:

Knight: “Well, I think I’ve always really enjoyed the fans, I always will,” Knight said. “On my dying day, I will think about how great the fans at Indiana were. And as far as the hierarchy at Indiana University at that time, I have absolutely no respect whatsoever for those people. With that in mind, I have no interest in ever going back to that university.”
Patrick followed up: “Aren’t those people all out of there coach?”
Knight: “I hope they’re all dead.”
Patrick: “Some of them are…”
Knight: “Well, I hope the rest of them go.”
