On Monday, it looked like there was slight chance we’d witness some sort of Johnny Manziel-Donald Trump Twitter showdown after the former Browns legend turned Patriots fan told POTUS to “lead the country and let them hate.”
Unfortunately for us, a social media exchange between the two didn’t come to fruition as Johnny deleted his account shortly after firing off his advisory tweets. But why did Johnny axe his account after all these years? According to TMZ, it’s all in an effort to better himself:
We reached out to Johnny who explained, “Twitter has been nothing but a distraction for me. I’ve said all I can say.” “Now I need to shut the hell up and work on bettering myself and my situation.”
Guess Johnny is really taking his NFL comeback seriously. Now the only outlets we have to follow him are his Instagram, Snapchat, and interactions with paparazzi.
