Wake Forest is in the market for a new football radio announcer because Tommy Elrod, former Demon Deacon football player, has been fired after an internal investigation revealed him to be a mole who leaked gameplans to opposing teams for two (!) years.
Alarms were raised back in November when school officials discovered Louisville possessed materials containing classified plays. (Wake Forest lost that game 44-12.)
The details from the investigation:
- Based on emails, text messages and phone records, Tommy Elrod, a radio announcer for Wake Forest football games, provided or attempted to provide confidential and proprietary game preparations on multiple occasions, starting in 2014
- No member of the Wake Forest athletic department, football staff, or players were involved in any way in these actions

In case you’re wondering, Wake Forest went 3-9 in 2015 and are currently 6-6 this season with a bowl game against Temple remaining.
Wake Forest wasted no time scrubbing Tommy’s information from their website
