Big downtown Vegas news if you’re Hawaiian
The Las Vegas Sun reports that the California Hotel renovation is complete and ready for the loyal Hawaiians that stay there. The casino floor boasts new carpet, molding and chandeliers to create a “modern island vibe,” company officials said. The valet area’s accents include wood paneling across the ceiling, shiny finishes and a lush plant wall on the west end, with a back-lit silver sign that reads “Mahalo.” The hotel registration area now has white granite, gilded recessed ceilings and gold and crystal light fixtures. There’s literally no corner of Vegas that isn’t being renovated or updated. Where’s all the money coming from? No clue, but the investors don’t seem too concerned that the bubble’s going to burst any time soon. If you’re a fan of slumming it in Vegas, this isn’t your time to shine. Maybe you head to the Plaza.
