Baseball Writer Proudly Gives Daniel Murphy Lone First-Place NL MVP Vote

Shockingly, there was no Justin Verlander-type drama surrounding MVP voting tonight. I’m serious. The Baseball Writers’ Association of America actually got it right and awarded Mike Trout his second (should’ve been fifth) AL MVP award, while Kris Bryant took NL MVP honors.

But if you’re looking to get mad over nothing, Bryant was one vote away from taking the award unanimously:

Who took away Bryant’s 30th first-place vote? The NY Post’s Mike Puma, who was more than happy to troll about it:

Daniel Murphy receiving a first-place vote isn’t the craziest thing we’ve seen — dude had a fantastic offensive season. But we’re guessing Cubs fans will be butthurt when they see Mike came through on his own prediction:
