VIDEO: The Baltimore Ravens Stopped Their Preseason Game To Watch Michael Phelps Win Another Gold

As we all expected, Michael Phelps has made his way to Rio and bent the world over to show them the 50 states. He’s already got 4 golds under his belt this go around, 22 for his career, and going for another one tonight in the butterfly. He’s already the greatest Olympian of all-time and we’re witnessing something that probably isn’t going to happen again for a very long time, if ever.
What he’s done is so impressive that the NFL, a league firmly up their own ass, actually stopped a game to watch him swim.

Granted, this is a preseason game and also Phelps is a Maryland guy, but the point still stands. During a regular season game this isn’t happening. No matter how much national pride and patriotism you think they have, they aren’t stopping the game for swimming. We all know they hate Patriots.

All around a cool moment, though. And I understand this was probably a Ravens decision rather than an NFL decision, but anytime I can take a shot at the shield am taking full advantage of it.
