'16 Rio Olympics: Hottest Female Field Hockey Players

Field hockey has been around since the 14th century, and possibly further back than that. But women did not start playing the sport until more recently when they began playing in Great Britain at different schools and universities in the 1880’s.
The sport has come a very long way and nowadays, it is played by about as many men as women, and it is much more popular among the latter. However, since you live in the United States, you probably don’t realize how incredibly popular this sport has become across the globe. With women like Ellen Hoog, Luciana Aymar (retired), Lidewij Welten, and Marrtje Paumen, the sport has given these amazing athletes a chance at a career in the sport that was once confused for Lacrosse, by some people around the office.

The Olympic’s did not give women a chance to compete until 1980. Since then, a few teams have become the leaders of the sport, Netherlands, Argentina, and Australia. Not only do they consistently send out top-ranked teams, they produce some of the sexiest field hockey players the world has ever seen.
Here are the hottest female field hockey players of the 2016 Olympics.
