ESPN has hired Molly McGrath to be its Friday night college football sideline reporter. McGrath comes over from Fox Sports 1 where she was a college football and basketball sideline reporter. She also had a stint as a Boston Celtics team reporter.
There’s been some shakeup this summer at ESPN with its college football sideline reporters. Heather Cox is headed to NBC, which opens up Sam Ponder to take the Saturday night ABC game with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit. Allison Williams was the Friday night sideline reporter. She’s still at ESPN, but her assignment for the season hasn’t yet been released. Kaylee Hartung should keep the Thursday night job for a few years.
McGrath also has NFL sideline experience. You might remember her from an Eagles snow game a few years ago. She was one of the original hires at FS1 when Fox thought it would build a show to compete with SportsCenter.
