Kevin Durant Has Been Offered A Cabinet Position In The Oklahoma Government If He Stays This Summer

Once the NBA Finals end, it officially becomes the Summer of Durant. We’ve had Summers of LeBron in 2010 and 2014, and now it’s Kevin Durant’s turn to be courted by a bunch of franchises hoping he signs with their team.
I think right now the consensus seems that he’ll stay in Oklahoma City, but you never know what can happen over the next month. Could he go home to Washington D.C.? Does he want to go to the Lakers, live in Hollywood, and continue to build his brand? He’s got options, but I’m going to go ahead and assume that none of those cities are offering him a position in the state’s government.
That’s exactly what Oklahoma governor, Mary Fallin, has done. If he stays, he gets a position in her cabinet.
From the Tulsa World:

“The Thunder did a great job promoting Oklahoma and getting through the playoffs and almost there,” Fallin said during a question-and-answer session Saturday at the Oklahoma Press Association’s annual convention. “Very, very proud of the Thunder. It was such an exciting time, put Oklahoma on the map every night. It was so fun to see us on national and international TV.”

“If Kevin Durant thinks about leaving, which I hope he doesn’t — Oklahoma loves Kevin Durant and Kevin Durant loves Oklahoma. But if he’ll stay, I’ll make him a Cabinet person for health and fitness on my Cabinet,” Fallin said.

Well, there you go, Kevin. If you ever thought about entering politics in your post-NBA career, you can go ahead and get a head start.
But as nice of a gesture this is, I’m sure it’ll have zero impact on his decision.
