The Internet has been very busy the past 48 hours mocking Stephen Curry’s latest shoe — the Curry 2 “Chef” lows. As you can see above, it’s easy to see why people — especially the NSFW black dudes — went off on the uninspired New Balance lookalikes that are retailing for $110.
However, not everyone is thrilled about people piling on the model as Curry’s former teammate (and fellow Under Armour man), Kent Bazemore, took to Twitter to defend them:

The lifestyle vs. performance argument is a strong one, but we all know once Twitter gets a hold of something all bets are off. Curry doesn’t even wear the low version of his shoes that often, yet these grandpa takes will forever be associated with his model.
