Justin Verlander Dropped $1.5 Million on Kate Upton's Engagement Ring

When you’ve already banked over $114 million in your career (and still have $112 million on the way), you can pretty much go all out for everything. Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander knows the deal, as a reports are saying that he may have spent $1.5 million on Kate Upton’s massive engagement ring.

Us Weekly had jeweler Mark Keeney take a look at Upton’s rock, and these were his findings:

Mark Keeney, vice president of marketing for fine jewelry company Ritani, evaluated the diamond ring and estimates that it could be worth close to $1.5 million.
The jeweler said in a statement toUs Weekly that Upton’s ring — which she debuted at the 2016 Met Gala in New York on Monday, May 2 — appears to be a round 8-carat diamond “set in a six prong setting with even more diamonds throughout.”

Fancy stuff.
But unfortunately for JV, his off-field success hasn’t translated on the diamond, where he gave up seven runs in just five innings of work Tuesday night. He doesn’t seem to be deterred by the rocky start though:
