Documents: Shawn Oakman Named In 2013 Domestic Assault Case

Oh, Baylor. Look what you’ve done. You kept a 2013 Shawn Oakman domestic assault incident quiet and now it’s all coming out just a couple weeks after Oakman was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman in early April. The kicker from the 2013 incident: A tipster tells sports writer @AlexDunlapNFL that the school knew all about the 2013 incident and did nothing.
First let’s start with the 2013 Shawn Oakman report that just dropped this morning.

Now let’s look at this “Real men respect women” sign that was recently added to the Baylor practice facility fence.

Briles said earlier this month:

“Real men respect women, but they respect men also,” Briles said. “Children are usually the first to catch the wrath of any that’s not in a great mood. That’s something that’s always been a really bad concern for me is that displaced aggression at a child. They’re the most precious and most innocent. That’s just something we’re trying to make sure our guys are aware of, what’s the right thing to do at the right time.”

Art Briles wants you to think he’s on top of this. Here he is last week going on about his players respecting women.

“It’s been a process to where we’re really doing all we can do to make sure all of our guys are at the are awareness level they need to be at by giving them proper training with professionals in those fields to help them know how to handle themselves at all times,  I hope, like everybody else across America’s doing,” Briles said. “It’s a situation where it’s a concern and it’s something we are dealing with on a daily basis.”

Now we just need the emails where Baylor knew about the 2013 assault allegation and did nothing. Maybe they would’ve posted a sign if it hit TMZ.
