Waterloo, Iowa TV reporter Jessica Hartman has a hockey story to tell down the road when some top-50 station wants to know about different parts of her life history. She can tell the story about the night she took a hockey puck off the forehead and live to tell about it.
Hartman was at the Waterloo Blackhawks (USHL) game Saturday night. It was a day off. It was her first game. It’s still unclear if it was her first ever hockey game or first Blackhawks game.
And then this happened.

KWWL reported on the incident and didn’t even know it was the station’s reporter.
A Waterloo woman is expected to be all right after she was hit with a hockey puck at Young Arena Saturday night.
According to witnesses, she was hit in the head during the Black Hawks game.
Witnesses say she was unconscious for a short amount of time, but she was awake and breathing when first responders loaded her onto a stretcher and into an ambulance.
Let's go Waterloo @BlckHawksHockey! Enjoying my first game! pic.twitter.com/3yHHaKfkOT

Prayers that the stitch doctor knew what he’s doing and didn’t leave a scar line.
