Rare: Old School Brett Favre With A Beer

I’ve been doing the BC thing since 2008 and there’s always this curiosity about how big of a partier Brett Favre was during his drinking days, the legendary days that were obviously pre-digital. Favre once said that, “There was a time when all I cared about was the next game, the next party, the next tee time. I can’t think of one thing that drinking has done that’s been good for me or my family.”
But we never saw images of Brett enjoying a cold one during the hardcore days.
Esera Tuaolo dropped this photo a week ago showing the old friends enjoying the 1993 Pro Bowl and Brett working on what looks like a Miller Lite.

Favre was – from my calculations – 23 on his first trip to the Big Island. And, from what Jerry Glanville has said over the years, Favre was at the height of his drinking days.

“I had to get him out of Atlanta. . . .  I could not sober him up,” Glanville said.  “I sent him to a city where at 9:00 at night the only thing that’s open is Chili Joes.  You can get it two ways, with or without onions.  And that’s what made Brett Favre make a comeback was going to a town that closed down.  If I would have traded him to New York, nobody to this day would have known who Brett Favre ever was.”

And now this is his life.
