All I said was, “You need to get ready for school because daddy has to do radio this morning.” And the words out of his mouth were, “but I want to do radio, too.” And I thought, why the hell not. Why fight this morning. It’s December. Listeners should be in a good mood. The college football regular season is over. Anthony at Fox Sports Radio Toledo has been preaching about “The Family” he’s trying to build. So I took my 3-year-old into the radio station to make his world debut behind the mic.
Things started off a little slow for Jack. He wasn’t as talkative as he was in the car telling me everything he was going to say. There was the intimidation factor. The headphones. The lights are bright. The big control board has a bunch of buttons. Mommy was listening. He clammed up a little bit, but eventually things got rolling. Thanks to show co-host @ for babysitting. He’s a new dad so this was good practice.
