Uh oh. After defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers for their second-straight victory, the NFC is in for a world of hurt because the Seattle Seahawks officially have their swagger back! Well, according to The Seattle Times they do — just forget about that minor season-ending Jimmy Graham injury and Russell Wilson drama.
Our pessimism aside, this the ideal time for the 12th man to hop back on the bandwagon for the Seahawks’ playoff run. It may (or may not) be deep, but that doesn’t mean you should forgo some stretch run tailgating. And there’s no better option out there than the 1978 Chevy van above.
The seller is moving onto a new tailgate project, and needs to move it ASAP:
Ok 12th Man, I’ve gotta sell the fan wagon before I can start my next project. This van has treated our crew well for the past six seasons and it is now time to pass it to a new crew.
The good:
She’s a V-8 (thought it was a 350 but looks to be a 400) with dual exhaust, that runs strong, sounds mean, with no smoke. Almost new paint, new battery, tires are in almost new condition. Entire inside is coated with a spray on bed liner. Over the bed is plywood covered in astro turf. Four beautiful custom Seahawks themed captain’s chairs.
The opportunities for improvement:
Transmission pan has a minor leak (1.5 quarts over a 4-5 month period between the seasons).
Small hose from the radiator to overflow is old and has a very minor leak.
I believe the heater core is bad (no heat aside from my tent heater)
If you leave her sitting for a few days, she’ll want a few shots of starter fluid to the carb to fully kick over.
Sounds like there are enough problems there to negotiate that price down. Heat isn’t a big deal, but transmission and radiator issues? Sounds like a total pain.
