And here come the shots…less than a week after losing a heartbreaker to Michigan State and the Wolverines basketball coach John Beilein decides now is the perfect time to take a shot at the Ohio State football program. Beilein was invited to speak Thursday night at a University of Toledo basketball social/season kickoff party and wasted no time working in a dig towards Urban Meyer and his defending national champion team.
And there it is…the best Ohio college football team is in Toledo. ROAST CITY. And I love every second of it. In case you didn’t know, Toledo is 6-0, ranked 19th and went to Arkansas and won. The Rockets also have a win over Iowa State.
I’ve been saying for weeks now that Ohio State needs disrespected so they’ll start playing like they’ve been disrespected. They need midseason motivation. They needed someone to call them out and John Beilein just fueled the fire. Look, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Buckeyes go to Rutgers this weekend and drop 65. Don’t think for a second that Urban Meyer won’t use Beilein’s comments to rally the troops and create a chip on the shoulder mentality.
This is why I still have Ohio State ranked 9th, well below Alabama and Michigan State. The more disrespect right now for Ohio State, the better.
Thanks, John Beilein.
