The 2015 World Series is just around the corner as the Major League Baseball playoffs continue. The National League will be represented by the New York Mets who swept the Chicago Cubs in the National League Championship Series. The Mets have gotten a huge contribution from Daniel Murphy during this postseason with seven home runs in nine games including homers in the last six games the team has played. He is also batting a robust. 421 in the playoffs.
New York has also got great pitching from Jacob deGrom, who is 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched. Jeurys Familia has been nearly impossible to hit with only two hits given up in 9 2/3 innings over eight appearances this postseason.
The American League will be represented by the Kansas City Royals. The winner of that series will have homefield advantage in the Fall Classic by virtue of the AL winning the All-Star Game in July. Kansas City will be making their second straight appearance in the Fall Classic after losing in seven games to the San Francisco Giants last year. Some of the big hitters for the Royals like Salvador Perez and Mike Moustakas have been struggling in the postseason. Here is a look at the full World Series schedule.
