It sure sounded like Jon Gruden referred to Shane Vereen last night as “one of the best blacks…backs in football.” Now, let’s not get all crazy here. The guy seemed to get tongue-tied and quickly corrected himself on the fly. This stuff happens.
As for the statement that Vereen is a pretty good receiving back, that’s correct. Shane had 52 catches last year with New England and 47 in 2013. That’s pretty darn good.
