Professional athletes are the richest and most famous people in the World. Because there are so many professional sports all across the globe, the number of professional athletes compared to salaries they earn makes them the most widely recognized rich people ever.
Think about it for a minute. Once you make it to the professional level, your life is changed. And you do not even have to be successful to cash in and become rich. JaMarcus Russell is a great example of wasted talent that earned nearly $40 million for doing almost nothing in the NFL.
