UCLA punter Adam Searl was arrested Thursday on suspicion of rape from an October 2014 incident at an off-campus apartment, according to the LAPD.
Searl’s arrest came after an “exhaustive investigation” in which the victim identified Searl as her attacker, LAPD said in a news release.
The victim met her attacker outside an off-campus party on Oct. 19, 2014, and went to a nearby residence with him. She fell asleep and awoke to find herself being sexually assaulted, police said.
Searl, who was immediately suspended from the Bruins football team, punted five times this season. The Irvine, California native is a walk-on.
