I like Katie Nolan. I’ve known about Katie since the days when she was pumping out videos for my buddies at Guyism. So what I’m about to write has little to do with Katie Nolan and more with those who won’t stop with the bullshit gushing over her Garbage Time editorial last night on Greg Hardy being a piece of shit. It aired at midnight.
The video is closing in on 4,000 retweets as this Twitter code is being embedded.

The gushing is simply incredible.
Hot media take alert!
Fox Sports does a lot of cynical things — and more to come — but they've let @katienolan do her thing and that has been rewarded.

Couldn’t have said it better myself
Watched @katienolan on Greg Hardy/NFL/media. Masterful linking of how everyone—including me—will accept anything 2 justify our FB obsession.

More gushing from Richard, the esteemed media critic
Something else: There are women in college now who see what Katie Nolan is doing & it will prompt/inspire them to create/go after… (1/3).

Wolfpack coming in hot
I was already standing, but if I wasn't, I would've stood for this O, @katienolan. Perfect. http://t.co/obdrZPwUuf

One look at a @katienolan search and it’s clear that Ms. Nolan is the new darling of the Internet. People just can’t believe how great she was in her destruction of Greg Hardy. So I started doing a little digging this morning just to see what’s been written about Greg Hardy. Thought I’d see if there were any other voices out there who weren’t lap dogging Greg. Threw in a couple of search terms and there it was.
A column from Christine Brennan posted Wednesday morning and updated last night at 8 EST.
Go ahead, read the column. I hope you watched Katie’s editorial. If not, go up and watch it before reading Brennan’s column.
Domestic abuser Greg Hardy returns to NFL –unapologetic, telling jokes, talking about players’ wives. My column: http://t.co/9Pbjs4N2Ij

Now let’s take excerpts from Brennan’s column
But he didn’t mind talking about Tom Brady’s wife, Gisele Bundchen. Hardy said he is excited that his return to the game happens to come the week the Cowboys play theNew England Patriots. “I love seeing Tom Brady, he’s cool as crap,” Hardy said. “Have you seen his wife? I hope she comes to the game. I hope her sister comes to the game, all her friends come to the game. One of my favorite games of the year, guys.”
And…
There was a follow-up question by local reporter Mike Fisher that mentioned that the significant other of Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles perhaps was attractive as well. (I actually remember the days when sports writers asked questions about games and strategy, not the physical appearance of players’ wives and girlfriends.)
And…
This unrepentant and immature behavior by Hardy in his debut with the Dallas media reflects terribly not only on him, but also on the Cowboys, the NFLPA, the NFL and everyone else who is supposed to be monitoring and guiding Hardy. Is there no one who is counseling him?
Yeah, Nolan’s video and Brennan’s column sound similar in tone. It’s also odd how they’re structured nearly the same. Greg Hardy is an unrepentant scumbag who still degrades women, has no intentions of changing and nobody stepped in to guide Hardy. One media member put those thoughts into print form. The other put it into video form. Only one is being praised as the Lady Murrow of our times. The one who wrote those thoughts is barely being recognized for saying the exact same thing about 14 hours earlier.

Look, I get it. It’s easy to pass around a video where it’s in your face and you don’t even have to read words. That’s the world we live in. I also get that those in the media, and those who write about the media, love to have an up-and-comer who is changing the game.
I get that women looking to break into media need that hero who is similar in age.
Not that anyone is really listening. Just thought I’d mention it. It’s just funny how much love one person is getting while the trailblazer is nearly forgotten about.//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
