Texas fire officials believe arson might be the cause of a fire that destroyed Johnny Manziel’s family lake house on Lake Tyler, just outside Whitehouse, Texas. Local TV channels report that the fire started this morning around 1:30 a.m. and the structure eventually collapsed. WFAA reports that the family was not at the residence, which is used as a second house.
Paul Manziel, Johnny’s grandfather, is listed as the owner of the 3,600 sq. ft. house that included a boat house. County tax records show that the Manziel extended family owns multiple houses and properties in Smith County where this fire occurred.

He loved his house,” Paul Manziel’s girlfriend Beverly Green said. “Thank you to friends and family for all of your prayers. We are just blessed no one was in the house and everyone is safe.”
The Manziel lake house had a value of $408,438, according to county tax records
The Manziel lake house was built in 1975.
