ESPN’s Merrill Hoge is on a crusade against the Browns’ Johnny Manziel.
He appeared on a Monday edition of “SportsCenter” and pulled no punches while speaking about the new-and-improved Johnny, pretty much calling for the Browns to cut him if they ever want to succeed (via ESPN):
“Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Baltimore, they love the plan that Cleveland’s under,” Hoge said. “Keep going down that plan because all you do is set your organization back one more year by babysitting and trying to get this guy as your starting quarterback.
“So keep doing that for the other teams. But if you want to move on, cut bait, get another guy in there and go another direction. Immediately. Cut bait. Move on.”
Can you imagine what Johnny would have done if he heard this crap last year? He probably would have gotten right on the money phone to dial up that hater, but not 2015 Cape Cod Johnny.
He just goes after the ESPN’er’s “big neckties”:

Look at Johnny getting the media to chuckle. Marcus Mariota and the Titans better watch it this weekend, because Johnny’s on a mission to both silence the pundits and put Josh McCown on clipboard duty indefinitely.
As for Hoge’s ties, we’re not sure if it’s tie selection or just a major flaw in his tying technique:

Yep, Hoge is pretty much winging it every time.
